A training series for nonprofit communicators ready to turn limited resources into lasting impact online.

BCCIC and SCIC are teaming up to deliver a three-part virtual training series for non-profit organizations and volunteer groups working in global justice and international development. Running every other Thursday in October, participants will learn how to plan launch, and evaluate digital campaigns with the limited resources they have without compromising impact. Leave with practical skills, the confidence to replicate what you learn, and a Certificate of Completion upon completion of the series*.

Ads 101: How to Set Up and Run Meta Ads on a Nonprofit Budget

​In this workshop, we’ll demystify digital advertising and show you how to launch effective Instagram and/or Facebook ad campaigns on a budget. We'll explore how to target the right audiences, set realistic budgets, and measure success. While the focus of this workshop is on Meta, you'll learn transferable ad strategies that can be applied to other channels. We’ll also explore how to leverage AI-powered tools to simplify ad creation, optimize placements, and generate ad copy that resonates with your supporters helping you stretch your dollars and save time.

Metrics & Reporting 101: How to Learn from Data in Real Time and Demonstrate Campaign Impact

October 30, 2025 · 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM CST

Knowing what’s working, and what’s not is essential to refining your efforts, driving greater impact online over time, and sharing your success with key actors like donors and senior leadership. In this session, we’ll break down key campaign metrics (particularly on Meta, though not exclusively), how to track them across platforms, and what to look for at each stage of your campaign. We’ll also cover how to use AI, simple dashboards and storytelling techniques to advance your monitoring, evaluation and learning efforts and make your data understandable and impactful for donors, boards, and your community.

Meet the Facilitator

Facilitated by Sarah Doty of Capulet Communications

Capulet Communications is a Vancouver-based digital agency with 20+ years’ experience helping nonprofits and socially-conscious companies inspire action. Leading this series is Sarah, an expert communicator and digital native who is passionate about using her skills for good. She comes to Capulet from an environmental non-profit where she ran digital advocacy campaigns targeting government officials.

Additional Details About the Series:

  • Each workshop will have up to 35 participants. 

  • A certificate will be provided to those that attend all three workshops in full and demonstrate reasonable engagement in each.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • Priority will be given to SCIC and BCCIC members, as well as those that are able and committed to attending the entire series. 

  • Given limited space, we ask registrants to limit themselves

  • Either SCIC or BCCIC will be in touch with successful applicants with next steps via email.

  • The training will take place on Zoom, with opportunity to deepen your connection with fellow participants both during and outside of the sessions.

  • Organizations are asked to please limit your staff attendance to one person on your team (per session).
