Malcolm Toland
Executive Director
Malcolm is a driven leader who brings over 30 years of international development experience across Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. He has led initiatives funded by Global Affairs Canada, The World Bank, European Union, USAID, and more. His work has focused on empowering women and youth, strengthening government regulation, advancing public-private dialogue, and supporting agricultural and community development. Malcolm’s work has consistently aimed to foster inclusive, sustainable economies through practical, locally driven solutions. Since the 1990s, he has witnessed the growing importance of global cooperation in an interconnected world. Now based in Saskatchewan, he is eager to apply his global experience to ensure that SCIC continues to play a meaningful role in global conversations.

Rachelle Klassen
Director of Operations
Rachelle grew up immersed in nature, spending her childhood in a Saskatchewan provincial park. After taking time to work and travel the world, she pursued a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management at the University of Regina. Rachelle began her career in the corporate sector, where she gained valuable experience before making a purposeful shift to the nonprofit world. Motivated by a desire to create lasting, positive change—for both the planet and future generations—she now applies her skills where they can make a meaningful impact. Outside of work, Rachelle is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places and connecting with different cultures.

Nasiba Hamidy
Membership & Network Engagement Coordinator
Nasiba Hamidy enjoys more than a decade of experience working in government, global organizations, and international NGOs. She specializes in gender equality, advocacy, research and analysis, youth empowerment, and children’s rights. In her work, Nasiba has cultivated extensive partnerships to support survivors of gender-based violence, vulnerable children, and those affected by conflict in Afghanistan. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Affairs, specializing in International Peace Studies. Her leadership includes founding and co-founding civic and educational initiatives, including Pagah, Travelling Books, and Café 451, that served women, youth, and children in her country. Nasiba is dedicated to promoting social justice, human rights, and gender equality. Also, she loves horse riding and reading books!

Andriy Tkach
Program and Media Assistant
Andriy is a seasoned digital marketing strategist with over eight years of experience leading campaigns for both large corporate brands and entrepreneurial ventures. With a sharp eye for video storytelling and a deep understanding of social media ecosystems, he specializes in building online communities that rally around shared goals and meaningful change. Driven by a belief in the power of connection, Andriy creates spaces where people don’t just engage—they unite with purpose. His work blends creativity with strategy, amplifying voices, sparking conversations, and inspiring collective action. Ambitious and globally minded, he is dedicated to growing impactful platforms that foster understanding and help bring peace to some of the world’s most pressing issues.
