About Global Goals Week

Global Goals Week mobilizes communities, demands urgency, and supercharges solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our shared future and the achievement of the Global Goals will be determined by our solidarity – how we work together across borders, nationalities, sectors and generations. This year’s Global Goals Week dates are September 19 to 28, 2025.

In 2015, Member States of the United Nations made a universal promise to leave no one behind through the 17 SDGs. One year later, Project Everyone, UNDP and the UN Foundation came together to honoUr that promise by launching Global Goals Week, an annual week of action, awareness, and accountability for the SDGs.

Why We Celebrate

For SCIC, this week is a chance to connect Saskatchewan communities to this global effort, amplify local voices, and inspire action on issues like climate change, gender equality, and human rights. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind.

We honour the treaties and ancestral lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota, Saulteaux peoples, and Métis.

The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC) is a coalition of organizations and individuals working to advance sustainable global development. SCIC was formed in 1974 by international development and emergency relief agencies active in Saskatchewan.

We are a proud unionized workplace, represented by CUPE Saskatchewan, Local 3012.
