An #ICNEngage webinar exploring the role, funding barriers, and strategic advantages of small and medium-sized organizations in the Canadian development sector.

Small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) play a crucial role in international development and public engagement across Canada. Specialized, well-connected, and flexible, SMOs directly reach and engage with Canadians. They operate in our cities and communities. Their impact stretches beyond our borders and into the poorest countries in the world.

This webinar will present the paper "Small and Medium-Sized Canadian Civil Society Organizations as Development Actors: A Review of Evidence" by Brian Tomlinson and provide an Albertan perspective on the topic. Find it on our Reports & Research page.

Presenters:

  • Heather McPherson, Executive Director of the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC)
  • Shauna Curry, CEO of the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST)

Note: This webinar will be run in English, without simultaneous interpretation in French. A French Webinar on the same topic will be hosted the following week.
