Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all!
As many of us are balancing various roles from home: teaching, learning, working, maintaining a household we are provided with the perfect opportunity to discuss SDG 8 and the importance of decent work for all and what that means for our communities.
Why should we pay tax? Do we all pay our fair share? And how should we pay for the things we all need to lead healthy, happy and safe lives?
Through playing this simulation game from Oxfam Education, learners will discuss and draw their own conclusions about whether everyone pays their fair share, as well as reflect on how things might be made fairer.
Learners aged 7-14 will start to increase their awareness of what tax is, how the money is spent, and our shared responsibility for public services.
Explore Dollar Street, an interactive platform that allows your child to explore the homes and living conditions of families all around the world based on income.
It demonstrates how we all have the same needs yet cannot afford the same solutions, how families and incomes compare nationally and internationally and highlight different families’ experiences and circumstances. While exploring, discuss with your child how poverty, lack of resources and unequal pay influence living conditions.
