Online Education Resources SDG 2: Zero Hunger

Published May 5th, 2020

Keep your e-learning momentum going with these online resources exploring SDG 2: Zero Hunger, which aims to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Our friends at Canadian Foodgrains Bank have free learning resources on their websites such as Food From the Field which is an activity that explores staple food plants from around the world, particularly those eaten by people in regions of food insecurity. The resource is a free download designed for ages 9-11 and touches on geography, plant biology, and cooking curricula.

In this video, food security expert Dr. Evan Fraser guides you through a crash course in climate change and food security. Explore the rest of the series and have your child summarize the videos either by drawing or text.

Tip: Watch his other video: Introducing Solutions to the Global Food Crisis with your high school-aged children!

Read along with Brett Stolz as he narrates Patrick Rothfuss’s book, Beatrice’s Goat, and see how Beatrice’s life was changed by her family’s goat, Mugisa.
