Seeking 2 Civil Society and 2 Youth Delegates for Canadian Delegation to UN (July 17-19, New York).
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Tuesday, July 4 at 5 pm PST
Global Affairs Canada has offered space for 2 civil society delegates and 2 youth delegates (18-24) to participate on the official Canadian Delegation to the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York during the ministerial segment from July 17-19, 2017.
The Inter-Council Network of Provincial/Regional Councils for International Cooperation (ICN) needs to submit the name of the two CSO and two youth delegates to Global Affairs by July 6 so we are opening this call for Canadian civil society to register their interest to be part of the official Canadian Delegation.
CRITERIA
Nominees must be Permanent Residents or citizens of Canada, public representatives of a Canadian registered charity, and must confirm that they have secured resources to be in New York from July 17-19.
What you need to submit to be a CSO delegate?
If you are applyuing to be a CSO delegate, please submit your CV / résumé and a letter of motivation containing answers to the following questions to [email protected] by July 4 at 5 pm PST:
- Past and current experience relevant to sustainable development, international development or advocacy
- What is your organization doing around the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs?
- Why is civil society participation important for global sustainable development? (less than 300 words)
- How can I contribute to the Canadian delegation and the conference? (less than 200 words)
- How do I plan to finance my participation? (~CAD$1,500-CAD$2,500)
What you need to submit to be a youth delegate?
If you are applying to be Youth Delegate, please submit Your CV / résumé and a letter of motivation containing answers to the following questions to [email protected] by July 4 at 5 pm PST
- Why is youth participation important for global sustainable development? (less than 300 words)
- How can I contribute to the Canadian delegation and the conference? (less than 200 words)
- Past and current experience relevant to sustainable development, international development or advocacy
- Have you interned at a NGO before? Are you studying in a relevant field of study at your post-secondary institution? Have you done any kind of projects relating to these areas?
- How do I plan to finance my participation? (~CAD$2,000-CAD$2,500) or do you require funding?
